Bernada Baker has been accepted into a one-year CPE residency at Emory/Crawford Long Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia Prinstone Ben (MTS) did a summer independent study and begins the Ph.D. program through LSTC this month. Jocelyn (JC) Cadwallader will be serving as a Lilly Foundation Pastoral Resident for the next two years at Fourth Presbyterian Church in Chicago. Kurt Esslinger has begun serving as Associate for Youth Ministry at Fourth Presbyterian Church, Chicago, a part-time, non-ordained position. Seth Finch has been called as Associate Pastor at Covenant Presbyterian Church in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He will be working with the junior and senior high school students, the college ministry program and the Deacons. He will also have a regular role in worship. His wife, Tiffany, will be teaching grades 7-8 math at Menaul School, a private Presbyterian Mission School. Michael Goodwin has been called as pastor of the First Presbyterian Church in Amboy, Minnesota. He was ordained as Minister of Word and Sacrament on July 13 at the First Presbyterian Church of Albert Lea, Minnesota. He and his wife, Kim, are the proud new parents of Lily Grace, their first child. Terry Green accepted a position with Lifelink, one of Illinois' oldest faith-based human services organizations. As Manager of Church and Community Relations, Terry will be responsible for creating a volunteer program and implementing a church and community relations plan, particularly with regard to the United Church of Christ constituency. She is also in the process of joining the UCC and plans to enter the care process for ordination. Jessica Gregory has been called as associate pastor at Northminster Presbyterian Church in Evanston, Illlinois. She began her ministry there on September 2, 2008 as a pastoral associate. Gabriel Hardaway has been serving as the Assistant Pastor/Church Administrator of the Normal Park Baptist Church, where his father, Gregory Hardaway, is Senior Pastor. Gabriel will continue in this role is also considering part-time employment at some local Christian agencies and social service organizations. Nick Hatch is attending the National Outdoor Leadership (NOLS) wilderness training through December 2008. In the meantime, he is also exploring opportunities in chaplaincy and youth ministry. Nick is excited about creating a vibrant youth program. He says he plans on having a garage at some point, since apartment closets do not make good garages for tools. Sarah Henken has returned to Los Angeles. She attended General Assembly (PCUSA), several peace conferences and journeyed to Colombia. She is currently finishing her CPE requirements and will soon be searching for a call. Herbert Johnson will continue serving as Senior Pastor of Liberty Baptist Church in Rockford, Illinois, and plans to start a doctoral program in preaching in January 2009. Jesse Larson has been called as an associate pastor at Collegiate Church in Ames, Iowa. His primary responsibility will be to serve as the Protestant Campus Minister for Iowa State University. Joann Lee will be serving as a Lilly Foundation pastoral resident for the next two years at Fourth Presbyterian Church in Chicago. She was married in August of this year. Vuanita Maze is getting more actively involved with the Pastoral Care area of ministry at her her home church, Third Baptist Church of Chicago and is in conversation with her pastor on embarking on the ordination process. Amos Golo Mokopi (MTS) has been accepted into the Joint Ecumenical Doctor of Ministry program at the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago. Kathryn Otto began a year-long CPE residency at BroMenn Healthcare in September of this year. Gordon Pace has been called to serve as Associate Pastor at Southminster Presbyterian Church in Richmond, Virginia. He was ordained in his home presbytery in early June and installed at Southminster on June 22. His wife, Lisa, is in a three-year accelerated master's nursing program at the Medical College of Virginia. Lorrie Reed will be writing -- poetry, devotionals, inspirational pieces and freelance assignments. She's had two poems accepted for publication by Alive Now! and has drafted a book of poetry dealing with childhood witness for domestic abuse. Jason Reynolds has been called to his home congregation, Salem Baptist Church, as Minister of Operations, and will be responsible for planning worship. He was married in August of this year. Jason Rittenhouse has accepted a position at First United Methodist Church in Genesee, Illinois. He will coordinate all adult education programming and serve as assistant to the senior pastor. Jason also was married on June 21. Zabrina Santiago (MTS) began work in March at the Council for the Parliament of the World's Religions. As Partner Cities Director, she oversees the involvement of local interreligious movements in cities around the world as they prepare and organize for the next World Parliament, which will take place in Melboune, Australia, in 2009. Jane Tuma will be pursuing a Th.M. degree in Biblical Studies as she waits for permission to seek a call. She is also providing pulpit supply, serving as a Hebrew EA and continuing to teach yoga. Paige Stephan began a yearlong chaplaincy residency at Rush Presbyterian Hospital in Chicago in September of 2008 following a summer working at Lakeview Presbyterian Church in Chicago. Jamie Wasowski began work on August 1 as the Associate for Masters-level Recruitment and Admissions at McCormick. Terra Winston will be teaching English in Lebanon for the next year. She began her position in August of 2008. |
