Executive Leadership Certificate program begins in September

The Mission of McCormick Theological Seminary is “to nurture the gifts of women and men for faithful Christian ministry and leadership through rigorous academic study, practical experience, and spiritual formation”. 

The Certificate in Executive Leadership program focuses on equipping clergy and lay leaders of Christian institutions, both congregations and the broader church or non-profit systems, with the skills and abilities necessary to lead effective ministries in today’s rapidly changing landscape.  It draws on McCormick’s recognized excellence in providing theological education, and on McCormick’s thirty-five years of experience in organizational development and leadership education.

A McCormick doctor of ministry education brings biblical, theological, and historical wisdom to bear both on your current ministry and on future directions and callings. Carried out in the kind of diverse setting that will stimulate your thinking and open new windows of insight and with the support of McCormick's outstanding faculty, a McCormick doctor of ministry degree can become a turning point to more vital and effective ministry. 

Explore a McCormick doctor of ministry degree. McCormick is now accepting applications from individuals who wish to begin study either in June or November of 2009.  Prospective students are encouraged to submit their applications well in advance of the final deadline dates (April 1 for June entry and September 1 for November entry).  D. Min. applications are reviewed by the Admissions Committee on a continuing basis.

The McCormick D.Min offers the benefits of learning through core courses as a member of a cohort of pastors and church leaders from a variety of ministry settings.  Students also have the opportunity to pursue elective courses in one of three concentrations of particular interest:

Building Beloved Community is designed for those who seek to broaden and nurture a vision of the common good that promotes justice, compassion and faithfulness to a religious heritage.

Parish Revitalization is designed for those whose ministry is the local church, blending Christian tradition, current scholarship, and contemporary ministry in ways that help form and maintain vital, faithful churches and pastors.

Pastoral and Spiritual Care is designed for those whose ministry focuses on the spiritual nurture and care of God’s people, enabling pastors and leaders to study the dynamic life of the people of God as a helping community
