John-Kinney.jpgIn what has become one of the most celebrated annual events at McCormick, the 2009 Martin Luther King Jr. Service of Praise & Worship will host the Reverend Dr. John W. Kinney and the Imani Ya Watume Youth Choir from Trinity United Church of Christ, Chicago on Friday, January 16. The service will be held at Augustana Chapel, 1100 E. 55th St. and begins with praise and prayer at 6:30 p.m.
Sponsored by McCormick's Center for African American Ministries and Black Church Studies, the service traditionally brings to the pulpit a distinguished African American preacher and scholar to enliven the theology and social vision of Dr. King for new generations of church and community leaders.
