McCormick Theological Seminary, a seminary of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) with Reformed, ecumenical, cross-cultural, and urban commitments, invites applications for a faculty position at the Assistant Professor level beginning as early as July 1, 2018. We seek candidates with a research doctorate in Bible, with a specialty in either Old Testament/Hebrew Bible or New Testament, and who are able to teach the languages of both Testaments.
Candidates should demonstrate excellence or the promise of excellence in scholarship and teaching, should have a commitment to preparing people for leadership in ministry, should be open to interdisciplinary teaching, and should have facility and experience with hybrid and/or online technology.
The position is a three-year contract position. The position will be reviewed in the second year to determine whether to extend it, and if so, whether as a contract or a tenure-track position. Strong preference will be given to candidates who can teach in Spanish, have an expertise in Latinx hermeneutics, and can engage a diverse community of students and scholars.
