Purpose: to lead a collaborative, connectional, comprehensive team approach to Westminster’s ministries of faith formation.

Responsibilities:

General:
to serve as pastor to ministry areas of Families, Youth, and Children and Adult Education bringing a passion for teaching, learning and spiritual development

Families, Youth, and Children Ministries:

  • Provide pastoral support for and participate in leading mission trips, retreats, Day Camp, and other major programs with children and youth
  • Supervise the Director of Youth Ministries, Coordinator of Early Childhood and Family Ministries, and Coordinator, Nursery
  • Be the pastoral lead in teaching confirmation with the Director of Youth Ministries
  • Support the work of FYC Council and related committees, collaborate on program development and growth
  • Nurture and support lay leaders in FYC area
  • Work with Directors of Youth and Educational Ministries to offer an hospitable welcome to families, youth, and children new to Westminster

Adult Education Ministries:

  • Provide pastoral support to ministries of Adult Education
  • Collaborate and show initiative in program development and growth
  • Help develop and grow Small Group Ministries
  • Seek and promote opportunities to engage the public in Westminster programs, educational series and speaker series
  • Supervise the Director of Educational Ministries
  • Support the work of the Adult Education Council, lay leaders and related committees
  • Work with Director of Educational Ministries to offer an hospitable welcome to adults new to Westminster

Other Pastoral Ministries:

  • Support Church-wide events as opportunities to nurture and deepen the faith of WPC members
  • Participate in the Congregational Care Team, providing pastoral care to Westminster members
  • Lead regularly in worship, preach occasionally
  • Undertake other duties as assigned

Member of Presbytery of the Twin Cities Area
Supervises Directors of Educational Ministries and Youth Ministries, Childhood and Family Ministries, and Coordinator, Nursery
