In Memoriam: Margaret Stuart Hart

Margaret Stuart Hart passed away on January 27. She was 97 years old. The first woman to chair the seminary's board of trustees, Margaret offered loving and faithful service to the seminary for more than 50 years. She was named a life trustee in 1987. The institution honored Margaret with the Legacy Award in 2015. Her grandfather, Rev. Dr. James G.K. McClure, was McCormick's first president, and her mother, Harriet McClure Stuart, was McCormick's first woman trustee. The recipient of McCormick's first Legacy Award, Margaret was instrumental in establishing the James G.K. McClure Professorship in Theological Education, a permanently endowed chair held by the Dean of McCormick Faculty.

McCormick remembers and honors the lives, gifts, and impact of our alumni, faculty, and trustees who have transitioned from this life to the next. May God bless each family member and friend who mourn their loss.
