In Memoriam: Rev. Dr. Herbert B. Anderson


We are saddened to announce the death, on April 5, 2018, of the Reverend Dr. Herbert B. Anderson, 88, of Naples Florida. Dr. Anderson was the former pastor of the First Presbyterian Church of Lake Forest, Illinois, pastor emeritus of the Brick Presbyterian Church in New York City and parish associate of the Moorings Presbyterian Church in Naples, Florida.

During his career Herb served as Chairman of the Board of McCormick Seminary in Chicago, Illinois, chairman of the board of Trustees and the Board of Pensions of the Presbyterian Church (USA) and a delegate to the World Council of Churches in Nairobi, Kenya. Serving with the Appeal of Conscience Foundation he visited Hungary, Argentina and China. Herb was the recipient of various honorary degrees.

Herb leaves his wife of 64 years, MaryLou, his daughter Beth Anderson of California, his daughter Susan York (Dennis) of North Carolina and his son Mark Anderson (Simone) of New Jersey and six grandchildren.
