SUMMARY OF THE POSITION PROGRAM DIRECTOR, OUTDOOR AND RETREAT MINISTRY
Summary of the position
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Coordinate the planning and implementation of the Summer Camp Program (June-August), in conjunction with the Executive Director
• Hire, supervise, and evaluate up to 25 Summer Staff, in conjunction with the Executive Director
• Serve as an occasional retreat host in the off season (September – May)
• Work with the Camp Fowler year round staff to plan and implement off season programming
SUPPORT & LEARNING
This fellowship is designed to provide a learning opportunity for those undergoing a transition or contemplating professional direction. As a two year position, the Program Fellow will have the opportunity to hone and develop a wide variety of skills that will equip them for other work beyond the fellowship. The Fellow will receive support and coaching throughout the duration of the fellowship to develop new skills and hone existing ones, as well as opportunities for mentorship and discernment. Successful candidates will be those that wish to use this fellowship as an opportunity to develop a wide set of skills in varied fields to hone in on their direction for the future. This position is intended to provide a supported opportunity for the Fellow to gain experience in the following areas:
• Planning, implementing, and directing programs
• Non-profit management
• Spiritual direction and retreat hospitality
• Engaging youth around topics of environmental education, spiritual growth and service learning
• Managing and supervising a medium-sized staff.
