Student groups are an essential part of life at McCormick, creating spaces for connection, advocacy, learning, and community. Organized around shared identities, interests, and callings, these groups foster meaningful dialogue, provide mutual support, and enrich the Seminary through conversations, events, worship, and service.

Working both independently and in partnership with the Master's Level Student Council and other Seminary organizations, student groups help cultivate a vibrant, inclusive community where every voice has the opportunity to contribute to the life and mission of McCormick.

Master's Level Student Council

The Master's Level Student Council serves as the representative student government for McCormick's master's students, with elected representatives from the junior and senior classes. The Council advocates for student interests, fosters community, and works collaboratively with Seminary leadership to enhance the student experience.

The Student Council also provides guidance and limited funding to recognized Student Advocacy Groups, which play an important role in the life of the Seminary by creating spaces for dialogue, support, education, and action around shared interests and concerns. While the activity of individual groups may evolve as student leadership changes, many remain active throughout the academic year.

Students are encouraged to start new Student Advocacy Groups that reflect emerging needs, passions, or areas of shared interest within the McCormick community. To learn more about joining an existing group or establishing a new one, email the Student Council.

Student Board of Deacons

The Student Board of Deacons is dedicated to nurturing the spiritual, emotional, and communal well-being of McCormick students and their families. Through care, encouragement, and opportunities for connection, the Board helps foster a supportive community where students can flourish personally, spiritually, and academically throughout their seminary journey.

Student Advocacy Groups

Student Advocacy Groups are a vital part of the McCormick experience, fostering belonging, leadership, and faithful engagement across the Seminary community. Organized around shared identities, interests, and concerns, these groups create opportunities for students to build community, advocate for meaningful change, and contribute to the spiritual formation of the Seminary.

Through educational forums, worship experiences, conversations, and community events, Student Advocacy Groups elevate important perspectives, address issues that matter to students, and enrich the life of McCormick by inviting the entire community into deeper dialogue, learning, and action.
