Celebrating the Class of 2025: McCormick's 191st Commencement

MAY 2, 2025

Introducing Our Featured Speaker: Rev. Dr. Patrick B. Reyes

McCormick Theological Seminary is thrilled to be celebrating our 191st Commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 10th, celebrating the accomplishments and bright futures of our graduating class. We are honored to welcome the Rev. Dr. Patrick B. Reyes as our distinguished commencement speaker.

A highly acclaimed Chicano writer, theologian, and executive leader, Dr. Reyes brings a wealth of wisdom and inspiring perspective to this momentous occasion. He is the bestselling and award-winning author of The Purpose Gap and Nobody Cries When We Die, works that resonate deeply with themes of identity, justice, and the search for meaning. His extensive experience in higher education administration and the faith-based non-profit sector further enriches his understanding of leadership and service.

Dr. Reyes' commitment to nurturing the next generation of spiritual and cultural leaders is evident through his service on numerous boards, including the American Academy of Religion and as Co-Dean of the Freedom Seminary for the Children’s Defense Fund. His recent induction into the Morehouse College MLK Jr. Collegium of Scholars underscores his significant contributions to scholarship and service.

We eagerly anticipate the insights and encouragement Rev. Dr. Reyes will share with our graduates as they embark on their own paths of leadership and service. His life's work embodies the very spirit McCormick seeks to instill in its students: a deep engagement with faith, a commitment to justice, and a courageous willingness to step into the world and make a meaningful difference.

Join us in celebrating the Class of 2025 and welcoming Rev. Dr. Patrick B. Reyes to McCormick on May 10th! The ceremony will be livestreamed on the McCormick Facebook page.
