Because the Water Flows

This year’s Commencement at McCormick Theological Seminary was more than a ceremony. It was a sacred moment of celebration, reflection, and sending. Centered around the theme, “Because the water flows from the sanctuary” from Ezekiel 47, the service invited graduates, families, faculty, and community members into a powerful reminder that formation is meant to move outward — bringing healing, hope, justice, and renewal into the world.

Through prayer, ritual, music, shared water, joyful embraces, and moments of deep gratitude, we celebrated the Class of 2026 and the calling each graduate carries forward into ministry, leadership, scholarship, and community transformation.
